Providing housing, residential care and championing the needs of older people
From Geraldine Gilpin, CEO
The entire team at Abbeyfield & Wesley has been actively engaged in planning and taking appropriate measures to deal with the challenges of Covid-19 so that, as best we are able, we can safeguard our residents and staff. The official government advice has been monitored closely and implemented as it comes through.
Please do not visit any of our homes or schemes. We understand how heart-breaking it is not being able to visit loved ones, but if the advice is that this provides protection, then it is a sacrifice which has to be made. Thank you so much for your understanding and abiding by this measure. Consider other ways of keeping in touch such as letters and phonecalls.
Staff are to be praised for the exceptionally hard and challenging work they are doing to ensure our residents are cared for. They have really appreciated all the supportive messages from relatives and friends and thoughtful acts of kindness.
The central office may be closed, but we are working remotely so that all essential matters are dealt with. You can still use the central office phone number (028 93363558), email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact.
Do look at the Abbeyfield & Wesley Facebook page. We will be posting pictures of residents and staff enjoying some “distant socialising” as well as news and fun challenges for you to take part in and help us stay connected over the coming weeks.
